This hand wound MWC W10 (without date window) is the same design as the watches which were originally made by Hamilton, Roamer and Zaigor in the 1960s and are still made today by CWC and MWC. The W10 was the predecessor to the quartz G10/98 models currently used by the British army and military forces in a number of other countries. This type of watch was issued from the 1950s until 1979 when the CWC G10 took over with the British Army. This model is a significantly updated version of the original 1960/70s model but it retains the original outward appearance whilst having the advantage of a modern 17 jewel high performance mechanical movement and screw caseback for easier maintenance - earlier versions were serviced by removing the glass which made servicing impractical except by returning them to the manufacturer. The W10 has a heavy stainless steel satin finish case made from Military Grade 316L stainless steel, it is very robust and tough and built to endure the most extreme of conditions, sweep second hand with hacking function, black dial and luminous markings with fixed strap bars. This watch is shockproof and water resistant to 3 ATM. For details of water resistance ratings see /water_resistance.html Military ordnance markings stamped on the rear.
