RARE, rare book, out of print, and extremely collectible. Cloth covered hardcover with dustjacket in mylar wrapper. No writing inside and I would say this book is in very good condition. A bit of age related discoloration in places. I have owned this for the last twenty years and it's been safely stored on a shelf in my library. Mysterious Cowries authored by R. Pierson and G. Pierson, written in both French and English. Preface by Dr. C.M. Burgess. First addition, 1975. Privately printed from what I understand. It's the primary book on the subject of melanism and rostration of the fabulous New Caledonian cypraea. Anatomy, maps, habitat, collecting, histories, observations. And plenty of really incredible photos in color. A very valuable reference book priced far below the other two I've located. 121 pages, over 2 pounds, book size is approximately 8 1/2 inches by 12 inches. Auction photos were taken in direct sunlight. I've described this vintage book to the best of my ability so sale needs to be considered final. Paypal, money orders, cashiers checks.
