MYSTERY ARTIST. AUSTRIAN? STREET SCENE WITH CARRIAGE, FIGURES AND DOG, 20" x 16" oil on board (framed size: 24" x 20") signed lower left. Someone has written M. Schnaino on the back but we are unsure of the signature. The painting appears to be early 20th century and influenced by Moritz Von Schwind (1804-1871). Ships to the U.S. via fedex to 48 states for $20.00; outside the U.S. via priority mail to Canada: $56.95; other countries $69.40. Buyer's outside the U.S. pay any duties or taxes incurred. After further research, we found the painting by Moritz von Schwind that this painting is influenced by. It is called "Hochzeitsreise" - Honeymoon and was painted in 1867. It is the same scene with slight variations. In the original by Moritz von Schwind the coachman has black hair and the coachman in this one has white hair and so on. There are subtle variations of the exact same painting. So this is done by an admirer or follower of the artist, Moritz von Schwind. We believe it is early 20th century.
