"LADY IN RED" This auction is for a very pretty, 15 1/2 inch German open mouth bisque, with a long, full brunette mohair wig (that could do with some styling), and lovely blue eyes. She is on a standard five piece papier mache and compo body. She wears an OLD, handmade red dress, trimmed in antique ecru lace, and a matching wired, wide brimmed, bonnet. These are in good shape, with the exception of some holes on the lace of the bodice. She also has old, nicely handmade and embroidered, white pantaloons, and old black socks, that are so hard to find I thought hard about keeping them. There is no petticoat. Her markings are a mystery to me, at least. They read: I O Made in Germany and then either a B or the number 13 at the base of her neck. I've searched Cieslik's German Doll Encyclopedia, and most of my price guides without finding that I O maker's name. If anyone out there in eBay land knows who made her I'd love to hear from you.
