MYSTIC CLEOPATRA dichroic painted glass pendant MGA Original Hand painted fused glass pendant by Maranda Glass Art ~ ~ 2 1/4" x 1 1/2 " signed and dated Some interesting information about this painting........ Cleopatra is holding 3 dichroic glass mystical orbs given to her by "The Seeker of Truths and Visions". What is she discovering? T is an additional dichroic orb above her head to guide her. This pendant has a black frame surrounding the painting. BTW....in case you're interested....... Cleopatra's main language was Greek She had 4 children. One by Julius Caesar. Three with Mark Antony. (Two of those children were twins) It looks good against different color backgrounds It has a large sterling silver plated bail. A gift bag is included. I'm a proud member of TGLAS and 4art. The process is a labor of love, time consuming and complicated. It begins with fusing two or more pieces of glass in my kiln to approx. 1550 degrees. The glass is then annealed slowly (annealing is the process of allowing the fused glass to cool both inside and out to relieve stress in the glass) This takes approx. 8 hours. Each painting is an original. Some paintings take quite awhile to complete. Each layer of paint requires 24 to 48 hours to set before additional layers of paint can be added. Depending on the desired results some paintings have 3 to 8 layers of paint before it is finished. The glass paints I use require 24 hours to set and then the painting is fired onto the glass and allowed to cool again. This creates a permanent and scratch resistant finish. A silver plated bail is added to the back or a hole is drilled and additional embellishments incorporated. ABOUT ME I've been painting, drawing, sculpting, creating all my life.
