Vintage Pair of Sterling Silver Floral Cufflinks Made by Niels Eric From for Denmark. A lthough N.E. From was born in 1908 he is known as a Scandinavian Modernist. He trained as a silversmith in Denmark and in 1931 he opened his own shop selling his designs as well as other jewelry designs. Then he went on to start a factory, exporting his designs across Europe, in 1960 he collaborated with his son in law to form a management team and Hilmer Jensen {N.E. From son in law} joined the firm and 1966 and took over the firm in 1986 after N.E. From died. The factory is now closed. From's designs were always floral; the other designer that worked for the company in the 60s and 70s designed the abstract forms we see. Abstract designs are from the 60s and 70s, while the floral designs date from the 30s to the 50s. The cufflinks are marked Sterling Denmark NE FROM, they are in wonderful condition without any damage. The cufflinks have a button on the center with a circle of flowers and leaves around it. They are very attractive and can be worn by a man or a woman. They measure 1" in diameter. Nice Vintage From Sterling!
