- NAT HOLMAN signed GPC (Government Post Card) - - 1964 Naismith Basketball HALL OF FAME Inductee - - GRAPHIC 1947 “The City College of New York” GPC - Attractive NAT HOLMAN hand-written and signed GPC (government post card) from “The City College of New York” , with a fine GRAPHIC image along the left border of two basketball players going up for a jump ball . The GPC is postmarked January 30th 1947 , from New York City, and addressed to “Cadet 1st Lt. Jimmy Wiggins” at the “ FLORIDA MILITARY ACADEMY ” of St. Petersburg, Florida. Nat Holman has SIGNED , dated ( 1/28/47 ), and hand written the following – “ With best wishes to a grand fellow Jimmy Wiggins. Sincerely, Nat Holman (signed)”. NAT HOLMAN (1896 – 1995) was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1964 . Holman is generally considered the best all-around basketball player of the 1920’s, leading Germantown to Eastern League titles in both 1921 and 1922. He was a gifted passer, exceptional ball-handler, and was one of basketball's most accurate shooters. From 1926-29, Holman was player-coach of the Original Celtics, a barnstorming professional basketball team, winning titles with the Celtics during the 1927 and 1928 American Basketball League (ABL) seasons. He also began coaching at the City College of New York (CCNY) in 1919 and guided them to NCAA
