For sale is a personalized bit of memorabilia from The War To End All Wars (if only, eh?). It's a mess kit consisting of the combo plate/pan with a lid, knife, fork and spoon with two leather utensil pouches. The outside flap of the carry pouch has hand-printed text reading: Charles H. Garrity (as you can see in the photo, part of this printing is faded) Co. C 303 Engrs. A.E.F. Beneath is a pen drawing of the Engineers' insignia; the "Corps Castle". Below that is the text: Argonne Woods Above Chatel. France Also hand etched into the outside rim of the pot lid are the block letters: Charles H. Garrity 303 Engrs Co. C The canvas bag is definitely showing its age, but has no holes or tears. The leather straps are intact, but very dried-out with cracked finish.
