YOU ARE BIDDING ON THIS capodimonte naples figurine soldier from 1844 This is a very striking figurine depicting a soldier from the 1844 period. The date is a little indistinct so please check picture 9 to ensure that you are happy I have interpreted it correctly I believe it is Capodimonte because it is signed/inscribed Merli (although this one was very difficult to picture as indistinct) on the tree stump at the back and he is one of their recognised sculptors. It also has the Naples Crown Backstamp on the base. He is in excellent condition although the sword, being made out of a very light metal, is slightly out of true. There are no chips, cracks or restoration and the colours are very vibrant. He stands approximately 12.5 inches or 32 cm high. I have as usual shown a number of pictures which can all be enlarged for you to see the condition for yourself. All white dots/blotches are light reflection not faults - my apologies.
