Napoleon III Chinoiserie Papier Maché Ramasse Miettes This is a great set with wonderful images on both the shell shaped receptacle and the brush. I especially like the dogs and the bat on the brush but shell has wonderful scenes of farming and harvest with detailed figures and scenery. The set was used to sweep crumbs from the table between courses. Today it is great decor which fits as well with modern as with traditional. The shell is 12" by 10 1/5" and the brush is 13" long. T is a chip on the lower left of the shell (1st picture) but all else is fine with just a little wear. They were produced in Pont-à-Mousson in the east of France known for is papier maché (carton bouilli) production in the mid and late 19th century. $7 mailing to the US; please contact for non-US mailing cost.
