BEAUTIFUL document from the French Revolutionary Wars Signed by TWO (2) Generals . This is a military leave/discharge for a soldier named Jean LOIREAU, Volontaire of the 58th Demi-Brigade (Regiment), 3rd Bat. The text of the document provides personal information regarding the soldier such as his age (26), height, place w he resides, etc. The soldier is being discharged due to a wound he received in the right arm by a SABRE blow .....T is writing on both sides of this document and also many signatures on both the front and back. The document is signed once on the front in the upper-right corner by General of Brigade Etienne DUTILH, Commandant of the Department of the Morbihan. The document is also signed twice (once on the front & once on the back) by the future General Pierre MACON.........The back of the document is primarily medical findings of the Surgeon LeClerc who goes into some detail regarding the wounds and further describes that the soldier received a sabre wound to his right arm while fighting against the enemies of the Republic. ........This was written at Vannes on 12 Fructidor AN 6 (approximately 4 September, 1798).The red wax seal on the document is wonderful and is SPECIFICALLY that of the 58th Demi-Brigade (please see photo)......Watermarks are also present and viewable when held to the light.This document is VERY read more
