NARWHAL AUTHENTIC ALASKAN NATIVE CRAFT/ARTWORK Carved ENTIRELY in Alaska from Alaskan Materials .......................... the item was transformed into an authentic Alaskan Native article of handicraft or clothing by a Native Alaskan Eskimo ! Up for your consideration, my interpretation of a NARWHAL, carved in the traditional, Eskimo style, from Alaskan Walrus Ivory. The eyes are baleen. The ivory spiral tusk is added and is removable for shipping . Lifetime (mine) guarantee on the tusk! The whale measures 3 1/8 inches long, 5 including the tusk. The base is a fossil walrus ivory tooth mounted on a 3.50 X 1.50 inch (approx.) fossil walrus ivory base. Many thanks to the Ivoryman for the great whale handbook. Thanks to this Smithsonian tome, I have been able to , hopefully, capture the subtle differences between the various types of whales, such as , rostrum, fin, and fluke shape. ............................ the item was transformed into an authentic Alaskan Native article of handicraft or clothing by a Native Alaskan Eskimo!
