Official NASA b&w photo of the Apollo/Soyuz (ASTP) crew (Slayton, Stafford and Brand) prior to launch of the Apollo spacecraft. The photo is cancelled at Kennedy Space Center on 15 July 1975, the ASTP mission launch date and the first day of issue of the two US ASTP stamps. The photo is autographed by astronaut John Young, Chief of the Astronaut Office (1974-1987) . The autograph (guaranteed genuine) is enlarged The photo of John Young and his title may be removed from the photo. The photo is shown without the two additions. One of the duties of the Chief of the Astronaut Office is to select the crews for each mission (with approval of the NASA Administrator). With some advice from others, John Young is the person who selected the US ASTP crew. The ASTP launch took place on 15 July 1975. If you collect autographs of those astronauts who walked on the moon, now is your chance to add a John Young genuine autograph to your collection. John Young is a veteran of six space missions: Gemini 3, Gemini 10, Apollo 10, Apollo 16 (moon landing), STS-1 and STS-9.
