The National Silver Co. was formed in the early 1900's in New York City. This firm manufactured both sterling and silver plate. They introduced new sterling flatware patterns in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. This particular pattern, The Princess Royal, is a beautiful pattern produced in 1930 and is sterling silver plated. The set contains a total of 73 pieces and was handed down from my great-great aunt, to my grandmother and then to me. As I have a busy life with four kids and a job, polishing silver (a dreary holiday task from my childhood) is not high on my priority list. However, I have polished this set up and it is ready for use in your home this holiday season!
