This drum measures 12" it is a buffalo hide drum with a very high tone. The 12" drum is perfect for a sweat lodge it doesn't take up the space a larger drum would. This item is completely hand made and painted. It is a one of a kind drum. Please ask any questions prior to purchase. There is NO beater with this drum, the only thing for sale is the drum in the photo.I have painted a white buffalo onto this drum along with the 4 directional colors. Buffalo represents selfless giving the white is the color of purity and creator. Yellow for the east and new beginnings, red to the south to represent the ancestors, black to the west where the sun sets and the spirit world, white to the north and the sky where creator watches us. I placed a buffalo hoof print at each direction to show how many paths a person can walk. This is a very powerful piece. This is a buffalo drum, protection, strength, giving, respect. So many hidden meanings. The way I was taught was that the drum represents the heartbeat of mother earth. Understand when looking at ANY culture there is one thing we all have in common... the drum... That is how it was told to me.buyer must pay within 2 days of purchase.I am an enrolled native american of the Echota Cherokee tribe of Alabama this item complies with the Native American Arts and craft act of 1990 it will have a certificate read more
