You are looking at a reproduction Native American Breastplate from a private collection. This piece was created by a Native American from the Pow Wow community for my great-grandmother who was a fan of all Native American arts and crafts. I counted the first 37 lines of multiple beads across and down 24 rows (and t were 888 different beads), then an additional 24 lines of multiple beads across and down 7 rows (for an additional 168 different beads). Copper, tin, aluminum, Crow and Pony beads, Bone hairpipe, Buffalo horn, Amber hairpipe. Simulated sinew stitching along the leather spaces and straps. Aluminum or Tin cones (I am not sure which). (See Photos) Really well made. Red, grey, turquoise, brown, black, bone, amber and buffalo horn color. I think the copper color beads really make this stand out. It looks like they added a cow skull bead to the top to enhance the artwork. This was hanging on a wall under a glass frame which was dismantled and then the piece was wrapped in tissue and put away. It was used as a display in a library room that was decorated in beautiful Native American Arts and Crafts. My great grandmother had lots of Native American upscale Art and Crafts and this is one of the pieces that is remarkable for its true craft. This is a relist at a very large discounted price. Original cost was just under $600 at a read more
