My name is Rick Kearney and I am the maker of this Tomahawk. I started decorating Pipe Tomahawks many years ago as I was raised by a Native American family, the Lakota Sioux to be exact which is how I learned my craft. As you may know the English and the French actually traded metal Tomahawks to the Native Americans in exchange for hides, furs and beads. The native Americans would decorate their Tomahawks to represent their Tribe and/or Totem which was also a way of thanking Creator for their gifts. The Native Americans also made sure that all the items they decorated were imperfect as not to make an attempt to be better at creating than creator. The "Running Horse" Pipe Tomahawk. Approx: 18" long, aniqued brass head with functional smoking bowl. Deerhide, red trade cloth, horsehair, antique brass beads, wood beads, antique tacks and wild feathers (which may vary). This is a very nice Tomahawk one, that any collector would appreciate.
