2 NATIVE SILVER PIECES Locality : NIPISSING MINE COBALT, ONTARIO Bid on these two different specimens (likely collected in the 1800's) with an old label and an old box. These pieces were presented to the owner by a Mr. W.B.M Chace of Fall River, Massachusetts Oct. 27, 1906. The owner labeled the front of the box with a number 2531 , Native Silver , Nipissing Mine : Ontario, Canada . Inside of the box he made a label with the presentation information and a note that " the gray fragment (nodule) assays to 30 - 40 per cent silver and the wirey mass 70 per cent." Another date of Oct. 1906 was written on the label. VERY INTERESTING ! The nodule : weight 2 ounces Size 4 cm X 2. 0 cm X 2.5 cm. The silver wire mass : 0.25 ounce Size : 2.5 cm X 2.0 cm X 1.0 cm. What a nice piece with mineral history, date, analysis, & first owner......... Free shipping !
