All proceeds from this auction go to non-profit Periapsis Music and Dance . This item was donated to us from a collector.Up for auction are 2 volumes from rare, antique book series, The Naturalist's Library, Ornithology Vol. VII and Vol. VIII: Birds of Western Africa , by William Swainson, edited by Sir William Jardine, published in Edinburgh by W. H. Lizars, 1837. Each volume has 32 hand colored plates, title page vignette and engraved frontispiece. 19th-century half morocco leather and textured cloth binding with gilt designs on spines. First edition, about 4.25" x 6.5". Very good condition overall, with former school library bookplates. We are happy to provide additional photographs upon request.
