Possil Pottery Glasgow, Scotland was purchased in 1896 by MacDougal Brothers, glass and china merchants in Glasgow, and where they very quickly began production of fine porcelain tableware, all hand painted with delicate flowers in the style of Limoges and with shapes similar to those porduced at Belleek in Ireland, and in fact it was from both these established potteries that Possill recruited skilled workers.
