This is a fine piece of Native American Leather & Beadwork. It is a small bag with a painted and beaded tail, or long flap added to it. The beads on both pieces are the same so it must have all been made around the same time. The paints are dark and bold - some kind of old crusty pigment (maroon, green and black).T are light blue Trade Beads attached. The beads are glass or ceramic and t are 4 colors - black, blue, green and white. T is a little damage to the thin flap, a few bug holes and some bead loss on left side (see pic.). No other damage. All beads appear tight, not losing any now. I know very little about this type of piece. I have additional information I will post later on it (some paperwork). The size is 12 inches long and 4 inches wide. >>> Both sides photographed in entirety!!! This bag is from the estate of Pearl Ellis (deceased) who gave it to Bruce B. Hodson of S. Dakota on Sept. 5, 1990. I have a 2 small pieces of paper which state this which will be included with item. JB
