This is a 1980 Ye'ii Bicheii Nightway Song or Dance rug. It is a fine textile and in excellent to MINT condition - no damage or wear. A beautiful weave with a complex scenario/pattern, aniline and natural tones and colors. The grey and the brown are hand spun and hand carded wools. The yellow/beige is a vegetal dye. The bright turquoise, red and orange are synthetic/aniline dyes. Both sides are photographed and you may request more photos via email for a better look. The Nightway Song is one of the most popular subjects as sacred symbols for ceremonial weavings. The the dancers faces (or face masks) are painted blue, and their bodies white so the blend in with the night as they dance. The size is 40" X 38", with a warp of 10 and a weft of about 40, a very fine and expertly woven blanket! All wool warp and all wool weft. Beautiful wools! NO moth damage, NO bleeding, NO fraying, NO fading, NO holes, NO stains, NO, No, no.....MINT CONDITION! Rug lays flat and is square. Corner tassels perfect. All side and end selvage perfect. End selvage cords are a braid of two, 2-ply brown wool yarns. Side selvage warp in mint condition. Both sides photographed. Rug is very clean and ready to display.
