This is the APH-5 size large helmet I flew with in with the USMC from 1961 to 1966. It’s made by the Mine Safety Appliances Company (MSA) who made rock tough hard hats, pretty much the standard Navy Aviator's helmet for that period and it is a one owner. The ear phones have been replaced with what was the most comfortable and best audio available at that time, they are adjustable by tying the strings on the outside to comfort. They were working when I retired the helmet in 66. The helmet appears to be still useable, the visor is not all that scratched up, but the pads inside need replacing. The outside of the helmet has scratches, but it was only involved in a couple of minor crashes. The black fittings on the side are to take the bayonet attachments of the oxygen mask. The O2 mask will not seal if you don't have these fittings. Like to say it was once worn by a hero, but that would not be true. My only “adventures in aviation” were self inflected. If choosing FEDEX as a carrier, please select UPS in the shipping calculator. B) Packaging and Insurance: The merchandise will be insured to the maximum allowable to a destination. Insurance is NOT included free of charge from the Postal Service or Fedex (UPS) on any packages. When choosing shipping method, please also select the insurance option. D) General Information Needed: If you are the winner we must have your phone number and email address, to better expedite the delivery. If paying by PayPal we can only ship to a confirmed Pay Pal address unless you contact us via e-mail in advance with an office address that we may place it on our invoice to you and you authorize a that non confirmed address in the details section that accompanies your Pay Pal payment. E) International Shipping Information: International purchasers....e-mail for an exact quote on shipping costs to your destination, and, if you are the winner or purchaser of the clock, we will add the exact shipping cost quote plus the insurance to the invoice transmitted to you for payment. Please note that for international shipments all duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. The US Postal Service priority mail international is the most economical method of shipment but will only insure up to 75% of value to many European countries, F) Shipping Damage Claims and Procedures: In the rare event that an item is damaged during shipping, please keep all packaging and shipping materials - take pictures of both the merchandise damage and packaging interior and exterior - call the carrier for instructions to report damage - contact the seller - provide pictures of inner and outer packaging and the damaged merchandise and statements or estimates of shipping damages via e-mail to the seller.
