HMS GOLIATH 'Canopus' class pre-dreadnought battleship built by Chatham Dockyard, completed in 1900 . 13,150 tons, armed with 4-12in, 12-6in guns. Served on the China station until 1903, then with the Channel Fleet. Covered the landing of marines at Ostend in August 1914, then in November took part in Rufiji River operations against the Konigsberg . Went to the Dardanelles in April 1915, where she was torpedoed and sunk by the Turkish torpedo-boat Muavenet with great loss of life. This is a 1:1250 scale metal waterline model made in Germany by Navis ( No. NM 113). It is 3.8in (9.8cm) long, well detailed and in excellent condition, with fixed turrets. All ships are packed in model boxes to prevent movement or damage during transit, a dditional models sent in the same package get a postage discount. The package is insured by Royal Mail for up to 46 GBP compensation for damage or loss, please ask if you want extra insurance above £46.
