Two CDV's of Navy Assistant Engineer Joseph Nesen. He joined the Navy in June 1863 and died in October 1866. Nesen entered service as a 3rd Assistant Engineer and was promoted to 2nd Assistant engineer (one photo in each rank). Nesen served aboard the USS Gertrude.
