A fine early navy sword difficult to find. Brass hilt is in excellent condition with much original silver finish present. Navy anchor, American eagle and two small "W" are among designs cast in the brass counter guard. The casting is finely done and shows almost no wear. Eagle head pommel and quillion are excellent. You can see a small shallow chip on the reverse pearl grip at the top. Original wire wrap. Some minor corrosion on blade tang as it is secured to the eagle head. Hilt tight with only a slight wiggle. The blade is 34 inches long with the original blue finish present. The cloth blade washer is frayed and thin, but present. Some small specks of discoloration on lower portion of blade, but no rust. Three day inspection period, with refund of purchase price, less shipping and insurance, if not satisfied. Notification of return must be given within the 3 day inspection. Ship within the USA only. Insurance required. Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance costs. I try to describe each item accurately, but please ask questions if I have omitted any important information.|
