This is an ensemble sale of the complete set of flight and flying equipment that was worn or used by a U.S. Navy strike fighter pilot flying the US Navy Grumman Avenger TBF aircraft in battle during the Pacific Ocean campaign of World War II, and later in his Navy career. The flight gear and personal equipment contains: 1) the helmet, 2) flight suit, 3) emergency signaling device 4) dual headset, 5) goggles, 6) head flotation helmet for water survival, 7) Pacific map, 8) mosquito netting, 9) combat typewriter, 10) ship & aircraft manual and 11) lifeboat sail/sun cover. Pictures of all these items are included in this listing. These are not items drawn from multiple sources, but the single unitary support system that the pilot used or put on, item by item, prior to climbing into the aircraft cockpit of his Grumman TBF aircraft mfor each flight off of the aircraft carrier. All of the included equipment was used by the same pilot flying from a U.S. Naval Aircraft Carrier during WW II. The items are offered, and will be shipped, only as a single lot.
