Vintage Photo the USS Lexington CC2 Aircraft Carrier From a small collection of 1930s-era US Navy press photos, we have a series of shots of early American aircraft carriers. This is the USS Lexington, which was built as an aircraft carrier and commissioned in 1928. Mark: stamped "IN PUBLISHING CREDIT MUST BE GIVEN AS FOLLOWS: "OFFICIAL PHOTOGRAPH U. S. NAVY". Inscribed in pencil "Planes taking off from the deck of USS Lexington" Some other pencil marks, Size: 10" by 8" Condition: fine, vintage gelatin silver photo.
