The US Navy and Marine Corps of WW2 knew that a man faced grim odds if forced down at sea. Navy and Marine Corps pilots were issued an ingenious round tipped floating life raft knife to cut line and prepare fish without risking injury to the aviator or damage to the raft. This US Navy USMC Marine WW2 Pilot FLOATING LIFE RAFT SURVIVAL KNIFE is in excellent condition, with a few very small nicks in the blade edge, some dusting and darkening at the left side of the handle, some patina at the left side of the blade tip, some light scattered patina at each side of the blade, some splitting and loosening to some ends of the cord wrapping at the spine of the handle, some light chipping to the orange finished metal grommet at the upper left side of the handle, and with some light overall age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the knife is in excellent shape, with no other damage to the classic round tipped blade. It's stamped "27C/2023" at the left side of the blade, sports the classic orange finished composition "floating" handle, and is complete with all of the original cord wrapping still stowed at the spine of the handle. A fine example of a rare, original US Navy USMC Marine WW2 Pilot FLOATING LIFE RAFT SURVIVAL KNIFE. With apologies to our valued international clients, we must restrict bidding to US bidders only.
