Up for sale is one Genuine US Navy Fighter Pilot HGU-33/P flight helmet originally used by an F-14A Radar Intercept Officer (RIO). This helmet is a size Medium and in good, combat used condition, with original markings from US Navy Tomcat squadron VF-211 "Fighting Checkmates". It has seen lots of carrier action, if it could talk I bet would have some great stories to tell. Tomcat squadrons are all gone now, and VF-211 Checkmates was the last F-14A squadron which makes this a super rare item! The RIO's name on the linear has been obscured for privacy, only the auction winner will have viewing rights. The helmet has a single, dark lens, the lens has some battle scratches on it but it is still easy to see through it well and still operates and retracts into the visor. The visor lock still works well, too. The reflective tape also has dings and scuffs from use from the NFO getting into and out of the aircraft ejection seat etc. All in all a superb helmet, with lots of real character. If t are any questions feel free to ask. Although the helmet is complete condition, it is used, and sold as such. I cannot warrant this item for actual use, it is being sold as a collector's item only.
