Matchlessantiques offers collectors and smiths this NEAR MINT 50 lb. Fisher & Norris Blacksmith Anvil. This anvil has a super clean face and near perfect edges. There is very light pitting on the face, but that won't hurt anything. The anvil is marked with the number 50 on the foot and the name FISHER on the front foot. Fisher anvils are very popular among blacksmiths and some smiths prefer Fishers over any other brand. Don't miss this chance to own a nice one. NOTE : This auction is for the 50 lb. Fisher became famous for perfecting the process of welding cast steel on high grade cast iron. According to Richard Postman's book, Anvils In America, Fisher claimed that "One blow on a "Fisher" anvil is worth two on any other anvil made".
