A wonderful ovoid glass vase designed by Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala Finland in 1958. Style is called "Ovalis". It has a boat-like shape with smooth sides and bottom. Design is in the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art. Great mid-century modern, Eames era simplicity that is the hallmark of Scandinavian design. Signed by Wirkkala on bottom, with the notation JO26. Measures about 4" high. In excellent condition. No chips, cracks, or scratches. This piece has been prized by its owners for many years. The box must either be unopened or returned with all shipping materials.
