Hello, h ere is a winged insect and a Knightia FISH fossil! all in their Green River Formation matrix!! This piece has been professionally prepared and restored, it is from Wyoming! Fifty-million years ago an ancient Fossil Lake existed in what is now southwest Wyoming. The unusual chemistry of the lake created conditions that prevented decay and scavenging, while alternating layers of limestone and organic matter accumulated that preserved some very interesting fossils! The fish fossil measures around 11.3cm or 4 7/16" at its biggest and the matrix is about 20.0cm or 7 7/8" at its biggest! If you have any questions please email.
