Unique VINTAGE CAPODOMONTE ASHTRAY PIECE found at a local estate up for sale!! This ashtray consists of 2 pieces~the gold metal ormolu frame and the porcelain ashtray dish!! The pieces together measure 2 1/2 inches in height, 7 1/2 inches in length, and 2 1/4 inches in width. The gold metal frame takes the shape of an old 2 wheeled cart!! The detailing on the metal is quite exquisite!! This cart, though, is being pulled by a little winged cherub/angel!! The porcelain ashtray dish is long and narrow!! It was hand painted and accented in 22K gold gilt!! This a great French Provencal Deco Modern era relic of the days when tobacco was king!! This ashtray comes to you in EXCELLENT AS FOUND condition. No chips, cracks, damage to the metal, the porcelain ashtray has some scratches from where it fits into the metal frame~~mentioned for accuracy.
