Please read entire description prior to bidding.I am selling an 18', Necky Tesla Touring/Expedition Kayak. This is not a new boat! Its an older boat with lots of bottom scratches, the rudder has a small bend in it and there is a very small hole in the bottom. If you are handy its a pretty easy fix or for a few bucks, you could have it professionally repaired. Its a very small leak and if looks didn't bother you, duct tape would probably keep the water out for a while. Anyway, this kayak would have cost in the $3800 neighborhood when new. If you'd like to see it prior to bidding, you are welcome to stop by and check it out. I'm in Doylestown, Pa...18901. Its about 9 miles North on route 611 off the Willow Grove exit of the PA turnpike. Aside from the flaws this is a wonderful boat with great reviews. Ideal for a medium to larger paddler who really wants to get out on the open water. Tons of storage in the two bulkheaded hatches. Neoprene hatch covers as well as hard covers to keep water out. Very roomy cockpit. Rudder works fine but as I said, it has a slight bend in it. You won't notice it once you're out on the water. This kayak is 18' long and weighs less than most 12' rec kayaks. If you are reasonably strong, you can lift this onto a car by yourself. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to email me at The Tesla was retired from the Necky line in 2005 but remains one of its top selling boats. Very stable, lots of cargo capacity for those who want to travel and take lots of gear. Kayak is carbon and weighs next to nothing. It is especially comfortable for those paddlers who require more leg room. The Tesla is perfect for larger paddlers, or those wanting to go on extended kayak expeditions. This was a very expensive kayak when new. It is older now and has lots of scratches but still very sea-worthy.
