This auction is for a mint condition Santa Claus figurine made in the year 1990 by Ned Foltz. The Santa Claus collectible is in great condition and has zero damage. Foltz is a notable potter who has made special products for quite some time. This figurine is a part of a Redware line out of Lancaster County in the state of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Redware is comprised of hand forming, hand decorating, glazing, and firing. As seen in the pictures below, the Santa Claus is signed and dated by Ned Foltz in 1990.
This old fashioned Santa Claus is beautifully detailed with forest animals peeking out from beneath Santa's cloak. They include a wolf, raccoon, rabbit, squirrel and a highlighted brown bear. A bird perches on his shoulder and Santa is cradling a lamb. The piece is approximately 8-1/2" high and 4-3/4 inches wide, and 4 inches deep.
