~ Nelson Silvia Co Trophy Belt Buckle, Champion Reining~ Up for auction is a beautiful condition rodeo championship trophy belt buckle crafted by Nelson Silvia. Obtained from an estate sale in New Mexico, this is one of 4 buckles in a collection which belonged to an accomplished rider. Every detail on this buckle is exquisite, with sterling silver and 10 K gold detailing. Each buckle in this collection was won by the same rider, with the same horse. (See my other ebay auction listings). The buckle reads: "San Antonio Livestock Exposition Show, Champion Reining" and is dated 1964. The back reads "Nelson Silvia Co, Sterling 10k, Houston" The buckle measures 3 7/8 x 2 3/4 and will accomodate a belt 1 1/2 inches wide. Condition is very good to excellent, with some loss of coloring on letters and slight signs of normal wear. Nelson Silvia Co is decribed by an avid collector, who says, " In the late 1930's William A. Nelson started his company in Houston , TX . The company was renamed the Nelson-Silvia Company in early 1960's when a partner was taken on. Nelson-Silvia manufactured rodeo trophy buckles including world championship ones. They were most popular for their rodeo trophy buckles. The older sought after collectibles and antiques in the cowboy field will only become harder to find and more expensive. Invest in the old west it's about America !" Auction details: Serious bidders only. This is a true auction, high bidder wins, with no ghost or shill bidding tolerated. Paypal preferred. Shipping and handling via USPS, flat rate of $10, insurance required.
