It contains intersting material from the early days of aviation. Many flights by Fokker planes named after birds are included, sometimes with covers from or to other destinations but all flown on the line Netherlands - Netherlands Indies route. Many items come with articles from Dutch papers. Although in Dutch these show the excitement of the public about these developments. The item now offered is the following: NETHERLANDS INDIES plane PELIKAAN =Pelican 1933 record flight the special envelope mint and used from Batavia to Utrecht+ large size cover 8-8-1934 Batavia - Rotterdam by Pelikaan and a cover from Emmen 7-XII-1933 that went by Postjager but after a crash near Brindisi the mail went by Imperial Airways to Cairo and after forwarding by plane IJSvogel the mail was handed over at Jodhpur to the Christmas flight of the Pelicaan (receiver Malang 23-XII-1933. Also a postcard with advertisement for the wood engravement that has been made and a piture of the pilot Soer is part of this lot.
