This auction is for a brand new, originally sealed, never opened or used, and in perfect condition #M Full Facepiece US MIlitary Respirator/Gas Mask FR-M40 or M40-A1 in size MEDIUM. This is the best military gas mask out t And if it is the best for highest military specifications it is by far the most superior for any civilian use. It retails for $264.50!!! The 3M brand name and price say it all. Please look at the picture for the accessories I am including in this auction. All included items are brand new, originally sealed, never opened or used, and in perfect condition . I include the following:
- Two (2) M40 Second Skin Butyl Rubber Cover ($38.40 each)
-Three (3) Butyl Rubber Quick Doff Hood ($249.80 each)
-Two (2) 3M Gas Mask Filter Cartridge CP3N ($24.75 each)
-One (1) Uncirculated NATO 40mm Filter ($19)
-Four (4) Uncirculated USA 40mm Filters ($15 each)
So the total retail value of this auction (M40 gas mask and accessories) is $1219.20. At this level of spending shipping would probably be free.
I have stored all this equipment in originally air sealed packaging/canisters, in a dark, dry and cool room. I am the original and first honer of this equipment. I am selling it only because I am moving to Europe for about 2 years for work and will not be able to take it with me. Even though some of the US and NATO filters are expired, they are all fully functional and ready for use. The chemicals in the military canisters last for decades. They may lose a bit of their potency but the operating loss is in the single percentage points (so it's negligible (most of the chemicals is based on active coal which if dry and not exposed to air can last for 50 years or more. The gas mask has an recommended open box shelf life of 10 years. This gas mask is air tight sealed and has never been opened!!! The Butyl rubber hoods and face covers may also be past inspection points but they are the toughest rubber materials known to science--they have recommended shelf live of at least 10 years when open. If air sealed--much longer. They are air sealed. The tear gas canisters are still officially unexpired. But they will work 15 years past their expiration!!! Please read about it online. I did my research. Besides both of my parents are professional chemists. I wouldn't buy it for myself if I knew it was less than safe or perfectly operational. And I purchased all of this equipment for myself about a year and a half ago. I would keep it for 10 more years (just in case) but I have to move and cannot afford storage for 2 years.

The M-40 Full Facepiece has been used for years by U.S. Armed Forces all around the world. This facepiece has been NIOSH-approved with the 3M(tm) Cartridge FR-C2A1 or 3M(tm) Cartridge FR-64 for acid gases (including chlorine), CN, CS, and P100 particulate filter. The FR-C2A1 cartridge meets military specifications MIL-C-51560 and EA-C-1704. The FR-M40 full facepiece respirator has the capability to mount a single FR-C2A1 DIN threaded cartridge on either the right or left side.

Comes with several unique design features suited for first responders. The silicone allows for excellent fit testing results and maximum comfort while the optional butyl rubber second skin protects the facepiece increasing respirator life and decreasing decontamination costs. A butyl coated nylon hood covers the head and neck and is easily donned to add additional protection against chemical agents and meets MIL-SPEC-C-51251. An integral drinking device permits the user to replenish fluids without having to remove the mask.
