Up for auction is an NEW ASCORTI BUSINESS 1/8 BENT CANADIAN . At one time Pepino Ascorti, Gianni Davoli and Luigi Radice were the masters of the Caminetto line of pipes. They later parted ways and started their personal lines. These carvers have repeatedly won acclaim as premier pipe carvers. The quality found in this pipe is consistent with the Italian Masters. This unique chubby bent Canadian is from the Ascorti Business Series. The bowl has a rich distinct rustication (cucaggio)which is black with medium brown undertones. The rim of the bowl is also rusticated but not quite as deep as the outside of the bowl. The shank is medium brown and has a smooth finish. From the bit to bottom front of the bowl is approximately 4 3/4 inches long. The large bowl will fit snugly in your hand. The tobacco chamber is smooth and natural, without factory preparation. On the bottom of the shank and bowl is stamped ASCORTI BUSINESS Hand Made ITALY . As each of these pipes is truly hand carved, t is not a unique number. The new black bit has the Ascorti A logo on the top center.
