This is a newly designed gentlemans lockback folder. The profile of the handle incorporates some subtle changes from anything I have done before. (You will be seeing more of this design profile in some slip joint folders I am making which have no visible mechanism at all!) For this particular knife I decided to end the year with a bang and use the last piece of Daryl Meier jellyroll damascus steel that I have been hoarding for the past 10 or 12 years. I still have some jellyroll bolster stock but this is the last piece of blade steel I have. It is rather unlikely that t will ever be any more of it. I talked to Daryl just a few days ago and he is going to be making finished knives only in the future. For those of you not familiar with Daryls work, his steel is the "gold standard" of damascus steel, beautiful and never a flaw. The fileworked liners of this knife are titanium and the scales are mammoth ivory in a rich brown tone which compliments the steel nicely. The mushroom shaped thumbstud is inlaid with a geniune natural ruby. The blade is 3 1/8" long and the overall length when open is 7 1/8". It walks and talks and opens easily with the thumbstud. The knife is offered by the maker, I am Ralph Turnbull, 29 year member of the Knifemakers Guild. I have a web site at and you might want to take a look at the feedback I have received. I ship fedex 2nd day air only for U.S. shipments and charge a flat $20. This amount will include insurance in the amount of the winning bid. A gold embossed knife case is also included at no additional charge.
