According to the original label located on the back of the clock, this is an " 8 Day Griffin " model, manufactured by the New Haven Clock Co., of New Haven, Conn. I'm not a woodworker, but am told the case is solid mahogany. I've read a little online before writing this listing, and this appears to be a regulator style clock, as it has a wooden pendulum rod, single weight driven brass movement with no chimes, moon dials, etc., and a separate dial for the second hand. It hangs in our farm office right now, keeping perfect time. We don't know the history of this clock beyond the fact that it was given to my parents by friends about 40 years ago, and it hung in their living room until 2004 when we brought it It was regularly serviced by Richard W. Weeks of South Portland, ME during the time my parents used it, and a decal inside the case indicates that it was previously serviced by Charles Downs of Portland, ME. Since this has been a working timepiece (and not a museum piece) the case and the face show signs of use; I know they have not been refinished in 40 years, and likely were never redone. But Mr. Weeks did often comment that this clock was in exceptionally good condition. Sale is final, so please ask any questions before bidding and I'll do my best to answer them. Bidders are welcome to inspect the clock in person before bidding if they prefer, by appointment only please. The clock is working now, and keeping good time; and that's the only warrantee I can make knowing what sometimes happens during shipping. The successful buyer is welcome to pick the clock up in person; alternately I will package and ship it to you in two packages, with the weight shipped separately from the rest of the clock, at the buyer's expense...I'd be glad to quote shipping for anyone prior to their bidding; please don't be bashful about asking! And insurance will be required, just to protect us both. Thanks for your interest; questions are most welcome! Someone just let me know I spelled "Griffin" wrong in the title, and eBay won't let me change it! My apologies! I've added 5 new higher resolution photos, for those who have asked for details.
