is a very nice 2-Blade Jack Knife, made by the NEW YORK KNIFE COMPANY, OF WALDEN, NEW YORK! The only flaws this knife has are that both blades have been sharpened, and it appears that some time in the long past, they both had some rust on them. T is old pitting on both sides of each blade and I cannot make out what the stamped writing says on the base of the larger blade. The smaller blade clearly says NEW YORK (over) KNIFE CO. (over) WALDEN. Both of these can be seen in the last two listing photos. The back side of the larger blade is clearly stamped 211 , which I assume is the knife's model number. I find none of the old pitting to be of great depth, so as to weaken the blades, and t is no sign of active, or even dormant rust or corrosion anyw Both blades appear to be mostly full, and I believe they will last for generations to come, even under hard use. Aside from these flaws, this knife is perfect, as far as I can tell! Both blades have great walk and talk, as the knife men put it! They have great snap on open and close, and full half-stops! The large clipped point blade has a long pull and the small spear point blade has a nail pull. All metal is clean and shiny and t are brass spacers. The dark wood scales, apparently either walnut or ebony, are full, clean, unscratched, uncracked, unbroken and without any damage or injury, as is the shield. They are also tightly held tightly to the handles with 4 pins. The bolsters are clean and shiny, and appear to be nickel or chrome, but I really don't know what this company used for bolsters or bolster finishes long ago. I believe this great knife dates from somew between the 1920's and mid-to-late 1930's, but I don't know enough the company's history or product line to narrow it any further than that. The large blade is 2 3/8" long, and the small blade is about 1 7/8" long. Closed length is about 3 1/2". Due to the nature of this auction, I will take bids only from the U. S. and Canada.
