This auction is for a complete original issue of the New York Times newspaper dated October 10, 1928. This vintage newspaper has front page and sports page news about Babe Ruth as he hits three home runs to give the Yankees the World Series win over the Cardinals 4 games to 0. The sports page has a large photo of Ruth crossing home plate after hitting his third homer. The full width headline across the top of the page says, " YANKS WIN THE WORLD'S SERIES BY BEATING CARDS IN FOURTH STRAIGHT GAME." The next sports page has three large photos of Babe Ruth, Miller Huggins and Waite Hoyt. This page also has a full width headline across the top of the page saying, "CARDINAL'S FATE IS SETTLED BY POWERFUL ATTACK OF YANKEES, INCULDING 5 HOMERS." The front page has a 1c. headline that reads, " YANKEES WIN SERIES TAKING FIANL 7 TO 3. RUTH HITS 3 HOMERS." The sports pages are loaded with news and articles about this famous series. This newspaper is 17"x 22" and is in very good condition. This is a must have for the Babe Ruth or baseball collector. Please see photos for more info. Thanks.
