NEWCOMB COLLEGE Early three-piece desk set painted by Roberta Kennon with stylized blue and green vine design, comprising a quill holder, an inkwell with cover, and a sponge holder, 1902. (Exhibited in `Newcomb Pottery, An Enterprise for Southern Women 1895-1940,` the Newcomb College of Tulane University and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibits Services, 1984-87, cats no. 38, 39, 40.) A wedding gift for Beverly Randolph, a decorator for Newcomb from 1895-1903. This was purchased from family members. Hairline to quill holder and sponge holder. Stamped NC/R.B.K./Q/G`87X, 88X, and 89X. Quill holder: 4 1/4` x 2 1/4`
