NEWCOMB COLLEGE Rare, early and exceptional bulbous vase, 1909, decorated by Leona Nicholson with incised, modeled and surface-painted freesia blossoms and stems in white, light blue and a blush of yellow, with forest green spiked leaves on a dark blue ground. (Nearly the entire pot is worked, and the colors are unusually bold and intense. This is a great piece of Newcomb pottery.) In blue NC/LN/CW-4/JM/W. 8 1/2` x 6 1/4`
