T HIS AUCTION IS FOR A elegant and beautifully crafted doll of Elizabeth Taylor along with a magazine ad for doll too. Elizabeth Taylor in her well known role as Cleopatra in the film by the same name. It is the first in a series of Taylor Barbies by Mattel. As it explains on the back of the box: "As a tribute to her life and career, we are proud to present Elizabeth Talor as Cleopatra, the first authorized portrait doll of Elizabeth Taylor". On the back of the box there is a brief history of Miss Taylor and mention of, not only her contributions to films in including many academy awards, but humanitarian contribution to finding a cure for AIDS.
