The chess board is dark wood with blue & pewter finished squares (measures 13 5/8" square).

Through the years, The Franklin Mint has achieved enormous success with the introduction of some of the best-selling collectibles ever issued, including The Civil War Chess Set.

Campaign Table for Franklin Mint Civil War Chess Set Is New In Box Never Assembled.

Back in 1983, the table was an expensive option for people who purchased the chess set. Most people did not purchase the table with the chess set and the table is rarely seen today, especially in this factory sealed condition.

***Please Note: The picture shown in the listing is just a representation of what the table looks like fully assembled, with the chess set. This table has never been assembled, as the table top and the legs are still wrapped in the original packaging, just as it was when it was shipped 25 years ago.***

As mentioned, the table has NEVER been assembled and is still in its original packaging. The legs and table are still each wrapped with the original packing material in the original box that we received from the Franklin Mint. The original assembly instructions are included as well.

The outside shipping box is the original shipping box the Franklin Mint sent to us 25 years ago.

This Franklin Mint National Historical Society Civil War Chess Set was introduced in 1983. This is one of the most collectible heirloom sets ever produced.

Full compliment of chess figures, each piece representative of notable Civil War figure. Chess board with storage for pieces underneath Full set of pamphlets detailing who the pieces are, and the history of each COA from the National Historical Society

32 NEW pewter chess pieces with brass & enamel .

includes the c.o.a. and the pamplets that explain each piece.

The All wood table has pewter corners and medallions. All feet have nylon tips to protect floors.

The chess board sets into the table. The measurements are: table legs are 31" long, table top is 20" square,chess board is 13 5/8" square and the table is 26" high from the floor. The playing pieces are pewter portriat sculptures with brass and enamel, beautifully detailed. On each side of table legs t is a round insert, one has The United States of America & the other has The Confederate States of America ,these are pewter also. The corners of the table also have pewter with stars. On the table top ,the area around the chess board is leather, or looks like leather.

This beautiful set was issued by the Franklin Mint in cooperation with the National Historical Society. * Handcrafted playing pieces from solid pewter and solid brass with bases finished with blue and grey enamels. * Playing pieces store inside the game board that measures approximately 13 inches square. * The board is crafted and finished in dark stained wood with embossed leather cover colored in blue and grey. The 32 pieces are as follows
