MidSouth Estate find. New In Box, this beautiful Vintage Ruby Red-flash Early American HOMESTEADER Oil Lamp ; a Plume & Atwood Risdon Manu piece of Danbury Connecticut . The overall height of the font & chimney together is 18"; a #2 'Parlor' size Oil Lamp . The red-flashing pedestal font measures 9 1/2" high x 6 1/2" diameter at the base. The font portion is a 12-sided dodecahedron with an orange-peel type texture. The pedestal base has a scroll design that is embossed from the underside. Has an Eagle brand burner with a P&A Manu wick advance wheel and a new 7" wick. The Chimney measures 8 1/2" tall; has a beaded top rim and has the red tint around the top 2" that fades down into the otherwise clear globe. In photos #5 - #10, I have tried to show defects in the red-flashing, which I assume is a manufacturing defect since this Oil Lamp shows no signs of ever having been used; ie no evidence of soot or smoke on the burner or chimney, no oil odor inside font. But even with my 14.1 mega pixel digital camera it is difficult to see the red-flashing defects. Please view all photos as they are part of the item description and the exact item you will purchase. A beautiful old Oil Lamp to display or a great emergency utility lamp during power outages.I always package my fragile items carefully and thoroughly. If you desire Insurance for this read more
