NICE 1775 18th CENT DUTCH SILVER ENGRAVED LADLE Presented is a fine quality silver ladle. The ladle is probably Dutch, but could possibly be Norwegian. The back of the bowl is nicely engraved with a floral design. The bowl has a lovely gold wash on the interior. The back of the handle is engraved with a design of scrolls and the date 1775. I have seen engraving of this style done by both the Dutch and Norwegians. I believe this piece is more likely from the Netherlands than Norway. The hook on the reverse of the ladle is a feature I have seen on many Dutch pieces, including ladles of this style. The ladle is monogrammed F.F.F., O.F. on the tip of the handle. The ladle is hallmarked on the reverse with a maker's mark of JS. The condition is excellent. T are no dents, no dings, no breaks, and no repairs. The ladle is 7 inches long. The weight is 32.1 grams or 1.1 ounces.
